So I've been invited to the 2020 Summit, which is an honour and a privilege, kind Sir. I'm a believer in the concept, as I noted on Radio National (http://tinyurl.com/2mosns) though I think we're going to need to achieve a great deal in two days for it to escape the label of 'talkfest'. I'm on the Future of Australian Governance panel, which addresses "the future of Australian governance: renewed democracy, a more open government (including the role of the media), the structure of the Federation and the rights and responsibilities of citizens". Fortunately, there are some great people on my panel, including Judith Brett, Miriam Lyons, Julian Burnside, David Marr and the Hon. Justice Mary Gaudron. Should be very interesting indeed. So who wants to meet up for drinks in the nation's fine capital?
(and yes, I'm loving the irony of having co-written an album called 2020. Teehee.)
